The Sky-Watcher Honders Advanced Catadioptric 125 (HAC125) is a new optical tube dedicated to the world of astrophotographers, adding to the range of optical tubes currently available in the catalog.
The HAC125 is Sky-Watcher's first telescope exclusively dedicated to astrophotography and stands as the ideal and definitive instrument for wide-field imaging with astronomical cameras.
 
The innovative Honders Advanced Catadioptric optical design features a highly reflective aspheric primary mirror and a multi-coated corrector that effectively corrects major optical aberrations, providing pinpoint, bright, and well-defined wide-field images.
 
The ultrafast focal ratio of f/2 ensures exceptional light gathering in very short exposure times. With a focal length of 250 mm and a diameter of 125 mm, it is possible to capture incredible details of galaxies, nebulae, star fields, etc., in just a few seconds of exposure, even without the need for autoguiding.
 
The exposure time required to capture the same amount of light compared to standard telescopes with focal ratios of f/6.3 is about ten times shorter: with only 60 seconds of exposure using the Sky-Watcher HAC125, it is possible to capture the same amount of light that an f/6.3 telescope would achieve in 10 minutes. The result: bright photos with a high signal-to-noise ratio in a very short exposure time.
 
The generous diameter combined with the corrected 16 mm field of view allows for detailed, sharp, and well-defined imaging of vast celestial, galactic, and nebular fields.
 
Focusing is achieved by simply rotating the camera support located at the center of the corrector lens.
The dew shield, while removable to facilitate the connection between the optical tube and the astronomical camera, also serves as a dew strap.
 
The Sky-Watcher HAC125 optical tube comes with a Vixen/CG5 dovetail bar with two rings that wrap around the tube, ensuring stability and the absence of flexures. Also available on the optical tube is a Mini Vixen finder mount, useful for correctly centering the telescope's field of view.
